How TempConvert Works

Client-Side Processing

All temperature conversions are calculated locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your conversion data never leaves your device.

Conversion History (Optional)

If you use the conversion history feature:

• Storage Location: IndexedDB in your browser (local storage on your device)
• Data Stored: Temperature values, conversion types, and timestamps
• Retention: Data remains until you manually clear it or clear your browser data
• Access: Only you can access this data - it never leaves your device
• Control: You can clear your history at any time using the "Clear History" button

No Server Communication

After the initial page load:

• No data is sent to our servers
• No conversion data is transmitted anywhere
• All calculations happen entirely in your browser
• Works completely offline once loaded

Third-Party Services

None Used

TempConvert does not use any third-party services for:

• Analytics
• Advertising
• Tracking
• User identification
• Data collection

External Links

The site includes links to related converter tools (ConvertQuick, CookConvert) and social sharing buttons. These are simple links - clicking them will navigate you away from TempConvert to those external services, which have their own privacy policies.

Data You Share

Social Sharing (Optional)

If you choose to share TempConvert using the social sharing buttons:

• The share action opens the respective social platform (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
• What gets shared: Only the public URL (tempconvert.io)
• Your conversion data is never included in shares
• These platforms have their own privacy policies

URL Parameters (Optional)

If you use share functionality on specific conversion pages:

• Conversion values may be encoded in the URL for sharing
• These are only used to restore the conversion when someone clicks your shared link
• No personal information is ever included
• You control what you share

Your Rights

Complete Control

You have complete control over any data stored locally:

• Clear History: Use the "Clear History" button to delete all stored conversions
• Browser Controls: Clear browser data/cache to remove all TempConvert data
• No Account: No need to contact us to delete data - you're in complete control

No Data Requests Needed

Since we don't collect or store any personal data:

• No need to request your data (you already have it)
• No need to request deletion (just clear your browser)
• No need to opt-out (there's nothing to opt out of)

Technical Details

What We Can't See

Our server logs may include:

• IP Address: Automatically logged by hosting provider (Vercel) for security/operations
• Page Requested: Which page you loaded (e.g., /celsius-to-fahrenheit)
• Timestamp: When you accessed the page
• User Agent: Your browser type and version

These logs are:

• Managed by our hosting provider (Vercel)
• Used only for security, debugging, and performance monitoring
• Not used for tracking or analytics
• Not shared with third parties
• Automatically deleted after 30 days per Vercel's policy

What We Definitely Don't See

Children's Privacy

TempConvert is safe for all ages. Since we collect zero data, there are no special considerations for children's privacy. No age verification is required or performed.

International Users

TempConvert is accessible worldwide. Since all data processing happens locally in your browser:

• No data crosses borders
• No data residency concerns
• Works the same everywhere
• No regional restrictions

Transparency & Verification

You can verify our privacy claims at any time by:

• Network Monitoring: Use browser developer tools to inspect network requests and confirm no data is transmitted
• Storage Inspection: Check what data is stored in IndexedDB/localStorage using browser tools
• Browser Activity: Monitor all browser activity to confirm nothing leaves your device

We have nothing to hide because we collect nothing to hide.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices:

• This document will be updated
• The "Last Updated" date will be changed
• Changes will be clearly documented on this page

Given our zero-data-collection approach, we don't anticipate major changes to this policy.
